Nestled in the heart of George Town’s charming LBH Chulia area, this cafe offers a calm spot away from the busier streets. It’s the kind of place you might settle into for a quiet breakfast or a relaxed lunch, with a menu leaning towards sweet and savory breakfasts, creative toasts, and a notably thoughtful coffee and tea selection. Whether you’re in the mood for a rich Croque Madame or a refreshing Coconut Pandan Latte, there’s a careful balance of familiar flavors with subtle twists.
The atmosphere feels cozy without being cramped, welcoming solo diners and groups alike. It’s common to see people working on laptops here, drawn by the casual vibe and reliable WiFi. Outdoor seating adds to the laid-back feel, and the staff’s friendly approach creates a warm, approachable environment. Though the kitchen has a smaller team, the rhythm here encourages slowing down — a chance to linger over a drink or dive into one of the generous sandwiches or light plates.
Visitors often appreciate the flexibility and thoughtful touches, like accommodating special requests around menu items or adding extra fresh fruit to dishes. The setting suits tourists exploring George Town as well as locals looking for a familiar, unhurried spot for any meal from breakfast through dinner. Practical amenities, including wheelchair access and available parking nearby, add to the ease of a visit. Overall, it’s a welcoming corner where the focus is on approachable, thoughtful meals and a calm, grounded pace.

5 Really delicious lunch place - we had the chicken Milanese sandwich which was delicious and the chicken avocado sandwich again really tasty. A bit difficult to eat as it’s so big but was really nice and fresh! Highly recommend and the staff was really friendly and offered WiFi
5 This place is great, was very relaxing, staff were lovely, food tasted awesome. I ordered the English breakfast and when I asked for no toast got given a range of options if I would like to replace it. My coffee was lovely and so was my Pineapple juice (was so fresh), they have a small staff so you do have to wait, but was definitely worth the wait. .
5 Ambience 10/10 Hospitality 10/10 Watermelon mojito I ordered was perfectly refreshing. The chef added extra fruits as per mg choice to Classic fruit pancake, but i found it little drying. But overall its a nice cozy and vibrant cafe
5 We enjoyed our food here - my sandwich was HUGE lol! After a morning exploring Kek Lok Si temple and not having any breakfast, I was very hungry, so I managed to finish it! The waiter seemed like a nice guy too. 10% service fee charged.
5 I loved this cafe! I actually went for the Aubergine Shakshuka but it was a hot day so I decided to have the Croque Madam: and it was delicious. I actually ended up spending nearly two hours here as it was so relaxing and chilled out, and I also had and Americano, an Earl Grey tea and a perfectly zingy Mango and Ginger smoothie. The waiter (apologies I didn’t ask his name) was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A perfect spot to stop for a meal or drink
4 Great little spot. I was after a fresh salad and thats what was delivered. The waiter asked if I liked onion... in which I said yes although this was a little onion heavy but none the less it was fresh and well priced. Asked for a piece of toast on the side and they happily delivered. Service a little slow and quite a simple place but they delivered a quality meal and friendly attentive service and checked in to make sure all was ok. Overall id go back again.
5 I saw on the menu from the internet they had a shakshuka which is my favorite breakfast so I decided to give it a go. Very nice little cafe, thoughtfully decorated, coffee was nice (the server said it was Columbian coffee beans which I though was special for this part of the world) Shakshuka was ok... not the best I've had but certainly not the worst either - it was just lacking in spices - rest was nice, just not totally hitting the spot. Service was thoughtful and made for an overall nice experience.
5 I live in Penang but just found this cafe recently, Tease & Toast Breakfast & Brunch at Chulia Street. The breakfast was so good! Everything was perfectly done & the vibe was really nice too. Special mention to Carlos, the waiter from Cuba, he was super kind, polite & made the experience even better. Definitely will come again soon!
Many visitors enjoy the large, fresh sandwiches like the chicken Milanese or chicken avocado, as well as classic breakfasts and tasty small plates.
It’s perfect for both—whether you want to sit down for a leisurely brunch or grab a quick coffee and snack.
